Saturday 30th November

Christmas Lights Switch On

Falkland Square 12pm to 6pm

(Lights switch on at 5.45pm by Harry Redknapp)

See Poole High Street and Quay come to life with its twinkling Christmas lights and Christmas trees.

Full programme of entertainment including children’s entertainers, face painters, snow machine and lots of bubbles!

Sunday 1st December

Santa Parade 

Poole Quay to Falkland Square

Santa arrives on Poole Quay at 9am and then takes a boat trip around the bay joined by children from Old Town Infant School.

At 11.30am the Santa procession starts from Poole Quay on to Old Orchard, through the town and finishing in Falkland Square.

The parade is led by the Meridian Drum Corps marching band and the Rotary club train will be making an appearance alongside Santa and his sleigh.

Other activities include kids’ entertainers Jamie Jigsaw and Marky Jay plus music from the marching band and live singers. Entertainment will be on the Quay from 9am to 12pm and then continue in Falkland Square from 11am to 4pm.

Sunday 8th December

Santa on the Quay

Santa arrives at 11am on the Quay all day until to meet and greet visitors. Then leaves the Quay followed by a flotilla of lights at 4pm.

Christmas craft marquee where you can make your own festive decorations. Or write a letter to Santa and post it into Santa’s special post box.

The main stage will host a live entertainment programme plus children’s activities and circus skills workshops on the Quay.

Complete with festive snow machine, face painting and bubble machine.

Saturday 14th December

Christmas Choirs 

A fantastic line up of great music including many Christmas classics to sing along to.

11am to 4pm

Saturday 21st December

Christmas Movie Day*

Join us in Falkland Square for family friendly Christmas movies on the big screen.

Come and snuggle up in our seated movie area with patio heaters, beanbags and blankets. (limited seating available).

Grab some hot food and drinks and settle down to some of your Christmas favourites.

11am A Muppet Christmas Carol

12.45pm Ice Age

2.30pm The Santa Clause

Step Back In Time at Christmas

Sunday 1st December

11am to 3pm – Scaplen’s Court (Free entry)

Step inside Scaplen’s Court to soak up the festive atmosphere of a Victorian Christmas.

Explore the building and enjoy some historical Christmas crafts

Museum Make and Take

1st to 31st December

Christmas Festive Candle Decorations

Supported craft sessions 

12pm to 4pm Poole Museum

Make your very own candle decoration to take home and treasure.

This fun, free collage activity is inspired by the painting titled, ‘The Queen’s Christmas Tree at Windsor Castle’ featured in the Victoria & Albert: Our Lives in Watercolour exhibition.

Self-led, free activity, available during museum opening hours.

Poole Lantern Parade

Thursday 12th December

Leaving Falkland Square at 6pm arriving at the Guildhall for carols and mince pies.

Local schools, scout groups and more will be taking part. Public workshops will be available in the lead up, look out for details. Get involved and make your own festive lantern.

Late Night Shopping Event 

Thursday evenings from 28th November, opening hours 8am to 8pm. 

The Dolphin Shopping Centre will also be open from 8am to 8pm daily from 16th to 23rd December.

Wheels 4 Freedom (shopmobility) will be open every day from 1st December to 23rd December.

Thank you to BCP Council for providing free Christmas parking in December:

Thursdays – 6pm to 9pm

Sundays – 10am to 6pm

FREE Park and Ride

More bus will be running this popular service every Saturday in the run up to Christmas.

From 30th November buses leave Creekmoor Park and Ride site every 15 minutes from 8am to 6pm.

Please consider your travel in advance. Poole is easily accessible by train, bus, bike or on foot.
