It’s always sad to lose the vast experience of someone who has been a stalwart of Poole BID for so many years, but that is exactly where we find ourselves.
Jeanette Walsh, owner of Truly Scrumptuous, a wonderful old fashioned retro sweetshop nestled between the Old Town and Grand Parade, where she also makes homemade fudge, has decided that the time is right for her to leave the way open for new Directors to continue to pave the way.
Jeanette said: “My 5th year Anniversary of involvement with Poole BID is fast approaching and I have decided it’s time to step down as a Director.
I have enjoyed being part of the Team and watching Poole BID develop and grow. My business has also grown during this time, which is great news and so I need to spend more time concentrating and developing this and I am unable to give the BID the hours of commitment I have given over the years.
I will always champion Poole BID and look forward to watching its success over the next 3 years.”
Whilst we cannot replace Jeanette’s vast knowledge of the area as well as her unwavering support, we are pleased to announce the introduction of two more Directors with strong experience in the hospitality and retail sectors respectively.
The first is Luke Bennett, General Manager of Delfino Lounge in Falkland Square and of his appointment, Luke commented “I joined the board of Poole BID because I’m passionate about hospitality and the community of Poole and making it a better place both for visitors and businesses.”
Finally, last but certainly not least, we welcome Ross Rutt who is currently Trainee Store & Spa Manager, LUSH Spa Poole located in the Old Town.
Ross commented: “As a member of the board, my primary commitment shall always be to the levy payers & stakeholders, where I shall ensure each and every voice is
heard. Coming with a decade of experience in the retail industry; I will work with levy payers and stakeholders to help future proof their businesses through a particular focus on exceptional customer service, customer retention and how to generate new & exciting ideas that draw more people in.
Having moved from Bath in the past six months, I hope that a fresh set of eyes will help identify areas of retail opportunity in Poole & the local area, wherein we can capitalise on the recent attention that Poole has received.
I have a strong commitment to people and understand the hardships of business management in such a turbulent time and the necessity to adapt to the new retail landscape.”
Jacqui Rock, Poole BID Lead said “we wish Jeanette every continued success for her growing business. Jeanette was a tower of strength when I came into the role and I can’t thank her enough for her continued support over the past couple of years.
We would also like to greet Luke and Ross to our Directorship and look forward to capitalising on their skills and experience to reinforce the quality of the current Board.”
